Most of the women who take a pill to prevent unplanned pregnancies experience, some sort of discomfort in the initial weeks of taking the pill as the body takes time to adjust, to the new hormonal changes.
In very cases the discomfort extends to a couple of months. If the problem persists even after the initial months, you may have to check with the doctor, who might suggest a change in the contraceptive pill and dosage levels.
Women who are over 35 and have the habit of smoking, need to consult the doctor, before starting the pill as it might increase the risks. Birth control pills effects can be managed with proper information and adequate precautions.
